The Last Emerald Dragon
Chapter Four

A NEW WEAPON. A NEW HOME

Tynes and Amallia walk out of the library.  Amallia starts to show him the kingdom of Kediliron.  The main city was set up like a giant box.  The buildings that were more than three floors were built in the center of the city.  In the very center were two of the tallest buildings.  One was a pure white tower.  It was the shorter of the two.  The white marble glimmered in the sunlight.  At night, the stars and moonlight made it glow in the night air.  Making it like a beacon to ships of the coast.  The second and tallest was made of gray stone.  It had a high wall with battlements.  Three towers arranged in a triangular formation.  Each tower had windows and arrow slits.

Amallia takes Tynes to the center first.  They walk into the white tower; he learns that this is the tower of the great dragon Kavar, the father of all dragons and dragon gods.  The top of the tower is made of pure crystal.  When the sun is at its zenith the beams penetrate the crystal, causing of the colors of the dragons to be shown off the tower floor. When walking around the floor, you can see when a color and metal meet there is a stone dragon in between.  Next she takes Tynes to the tallest building.  When they walk through the gate of the high walls, he recognizes the small house in the courtyard.  It was the loft that he found himself in two weeks ago.  Tynes looks to Amallia with a question on his face.  Amallia is looking at him with a smile on her face.  He then realizes that without knowing it.  He had walked right out the gate.

"Amallia... What is this place?  I mean I know of the loft, however, I had not seen the rest of the courtyard," asked Tynes.  Amallia looks at him and smiles.

"This is the king's home.  Zyrad is his 'brother'.  The king's name is Shather III.  His grandfather founded this land," explained Amallia.

"So the king here is a dragon?  And if Zyrad is his brother.  Then Zyrad is a dragon as well," asked Tynes.

"Oh no Zyrad is not a dragon, he's a Ka-Saeyth or a woodsman dragon.  He was not born a dragon. We Saeyth just call each other brother and sister.  We are a tight net group.  Shather and Zyrad trained together.  Zyrad also rediscovered the great jewel of the ritual of the spear.  Therefore he is also known as the Ka-Elder, or dragon elder if you will allow my meaning," said Amallia.

While Tynes and Amallia were standing there looking at the castle, a man appears behind them.  He was about 6 inches shorter than Tynes but a just a few inches taller than Amallia.  He had black hair that was spiked up.  There was a lock of hair in front that was pure white.  He stands behind the pair with his arms crossed for quite some time before he says something.

"And what are my young Saeyth and this stranger doing in my courtyard of my home," said the man, the voice of the man coming from behind them startles the two.  When they turn to look at the man Amallia locks eyes with him she then bows to him.

    "Greetings your majesty," she says.

"Good afternoon Amallia.  I see you're showing our castaway our fair kingdom.  Speaking of which what might they call you young sir," said Shather.

"I am called Tynes, but it seems to be okay to call me Ty...  Sire," said Tynes.  Shather cocks an eyebrow at Tynes's statement.

"Majesty it seems Ty here has lost his memories.  The only thing he remembers is his name and his sisters," explained Amallia.

"And where is this sister of yours at?  Did she get lost at sea with the rest of the crew of the doomed ship," asked Shather.

"Nay sire from what I do recall I do not think she was traveling with me at the time," said Tynes.

"Mm...  Interesting well young sir I hope you are feeling welcome here...  I must be off now I have things to do.  Enjoy your time before you two have to train," said Shather.

After the king disappears again Tynes looks at Amallia.  "Training?  How did he?  Where is this training at anyway," asked Tynes.

"Ha-ha...  The king is not dumb, he and Zyrad talk all the time.  Plus I think Zyrad wants you to become a Saeyth.  Especially with your display with that spear you now have strapped to your back," said Amallia.  Tynes did not reply back.  They just turned and walked out of the courtyard.

Outside the gate, the pair almost runs over a woman.  She had long red hair and dark purple eyes.  She was below average height in fact; she was only 4 feet 6 inches tall.  She was short compared to Tynes's 7 feet that she only came to his abdomen.

"Oh greetings duchess so sorry about that we didn't see you there," said Amallia.

"That's all right...  Being a faerie person, it happens all the time.  By the way, who is this stranger here that seems to be in awe of our city," asked the duchess.

"My name is Tynes.  I was shipwrecked here about two weeks ago.  And it seems that the elder has invited me to train here as a Saeyth.  Whatever that means," said Tynes.

"Very good then...  Well welcome to Kediliron and you can call me Sylara.  Oh and Amallia are you going to be home tonight.  We have to set a watch tonight that Korrest that calls himself Firki has been skulking around at night," said Sylara.

"Yes, duchess I'll be home.  By your leave mi' lady, may I bring Ty along as well," asked Amallia.  Sylara nods her agreement.  She then excuses herself and walks away.  Tynes watches as the duchess walks away, and then he sees colorful wings sprout from her back.  The wings look so fragile that if a strong wind was to blow they would ripe right off and disintegrate into nothing.  However, this did not happen as she flew off to the North East and disappeared over the mountains.

For the rest of the day, Amallia and Tynes walk around the village.  They walk into shops and bars.  One shop was a do-it-your- self-shop.  Here you could make your own weapons and armor if you like.  For some reason, he tries to make a great sword.  It did not take him long to make, and the sword could be mistaken as an Elvin made blade.  Amallia is watching him work.  It becomes so hot in the shop that he removes his shirt.

Amallia for the first time notices that he has a tattoo.  This tattoo goes up his chest on his right side.  It then goes over his shoulder and down his back.  The design is of small dragons.  Each one coils but not touching the next one.  This pattern continues up his chest and back down his back.  From a distance it may look like a tribal tattoo of the ancients, however, a closer look shows you the details.  His muscles start to bulge and veins pulse over his arms.  The sweat flowing down his chest, giving him a glittering look of pure power. Amallia lustful eyes follow his body from the waist up to his deep green eyes.  All she could think of was those strong arms wrapped around her.  She knew she would feel safe in those arms.

Tynes was completely absorbed in his work of the weapon that he did not see what she was doing.  He just heard the hammer pounding the metal into what he wanted.  The sound of the hammer hitting steel rang out through the town.

As Tynes is hammering, he is humming.  Amallia can hear the humming that seemed to her was intermingling with the sound of the hammer.  She watched as with each hit of the hammer, green sparks leap from the hot metal.  The owner of the shop also stopped what he was doing to see how Tynes was doing with his crafting.  To his own surprise, the newcomer was doing better than himself.  He watches as the precision of the hammer hitting the blade, as well as the power behind every stroke.  Other people of the town who were walking by stopped to watch him work.  They watched the power that was going into every stroke of the hammer.

When he is finished, he cools off the blade in a mixture of warm water and oil.   He then starts to work on the guard extension and guard.  The extension climbs up the blade about 7 inches.  The design of the extension is of a gold dragon scales.  When crafting the extension Amallia hears the same humming.  The guard is of a gold dragon wings spread across the extension.  The handle he crafts next, it is a gold dragons' body coiling down the handle.  At the pommel is two gold dragon heads facing away from each other, just above those heads is a deep emerald diamond.  If you look through the diamond you could see a symbol that is not recognizable by anyone.

Tynes has no idea why he put that symbol under the stone or what it meant.  It just came into his mind like someone was telling him to or instructing him how to make it. Next he sews together leather to be his sheath.  From the opening on opposite sides, he cuts the guard extensions allowing leather to cover the exposed steel.  He trims the top of the sheath with bendable yet sturdy metal.  This keeps the leather from becoming loose over time.  At the sheaths tip, he caps it with the same steel and carves a small dragon design.  The belt for the sheath is designed to either be a chest belt or a waist belt, at this time Tynes decides to have this on his back.

When everything is completed he puts everything together and does a final inspection and a final note to his humming.  He then straps the sword to his back in the opposite direction of his spear.  He then draws the sword and gives it a few good swings.  Satisfied he puts it back without a second thought.

"How did you know how to do that?  I mean how to forge and make a blade with so much precision?  Also, I must ask did you know you were humming the entire time," asked Amallia.

"For some reason I just felt like humming.  I have no idea how I know, but it does seem that I do.  Everything I did just seemed to make sense to me.  Even the symbol under the stone, I have no idea what it means or where it came from.  But it seemed right to put it where it is.  I am sorry I wish I knew more to tell you, however, I do not," explained Tynes.

"Well, it does seem you know more than what you can remember.  So maybe someday it will all come back to you," said Amallia.

They finished up with his project.  After he cleans up they leave the shop.   Amallia then hails a carriage and they head to Sylara's keep.  As the carriage emerges from the Yaihel Mountain pass.  The lush green mountains with snow tops give the occupants of the carriage a feeling of a cool autumn day.  A low hanging cloud is resting on top of the mountain peaks.  Parts of the cloud are starting to roll down the slope due to the sun's warmth.  The keep that they are heading is of a brown and green color to blend into the forests and mountains. The keep is actually built in unison of the natural surroundings.  The main entrance is a twenty-foot tall wall with a tower in each corner.

The land passed the mountains is dark brown packed sand that slopes down around the keep.  The sea with low churning waves laps against the land.  The slope of the shore leaves the keep in a nice position above a sheer cliff with jagged rocks that is not climbable.  The main living areas of the keep look over this cliff and into the sea.  There Tynes finds out a lot of other people live at the keep as well.  In fact, there are more than just humans and Elves.  There is a strange creature in particular.  It is covered in black color fur.  It has the Hinge legs of a horse, which it is standing up on.  The body and arms of a large man.  On its back were two wings that are folded up.  Lastly, it had the head of a horse with a unicorn's horn.  So for lack of a better name we will call it a Pegamairecorn.  Part Pegasus, part Nightmare, and part Unicorn.  Therefore a Pegamairecorn.

Amallia gives Tynes a tour of the keep.  He and Amallia walk the whole grounds.  While they are walking Sylara offers Tynes a small room to sleep in.  It is a bare room with nothing in it but just a cot.  Feeling tired from making his sword.  That cot never felt so good.  He falls asleep in a few seconds.  His dreams were somewhat disturbing to him.  He sees a dragon flying in the open air.  This dragon looks like it's scales are made of emerald diamonds.  The dragon does not seem to be in a hurry or is angry.  In fact, it seems it is enjoying the flight alone.  The dragon glides on the air jetties.  It does rolls, dips down and back up.  This dragon looks to be enjoying the time to himself.

He is then awakened by Amallia.  She informs him that it is their turn for patrol of the keep.  They are to keep a look out for Firki the Korrest.  If he is spotted an alarm is to be sounded and raised.

For the four hours, Tynes walks along the battlements of the keep.  He starts to notice that he can see far off into the woods.  He also notices that he hear a deer running from tree to tree.  Then in a few moments he catches the small doe in his sight.  What is even stranger than that, he could actually tell the distance from where he is standing to where the doe is.  He could also hear its heart beat as it runs from tree to tree looking for grass to nibble on.  He watches as the doe would nibble on grass then look up after hearing a small animal come creeping up out the grass.  It would then continue eating till it was done with that grass.  Then it would go to the bunch around another tree.  A little later he sees a fawn join his mother.  Together they walk in the forest to graze off the grass.  He then notices other things milling about, small barn mice and rabbits.  He could hear owls and wolves from long distances.  The birds of prey flying around at night looking for small animals to eat.

While Tynes is looking out into the forest, Amallia is watching him.  His spear and shield in his arms and his great sword on his back.  His body sweating from the humidity in the air.  It is not a heavy sweat but just enough to give him a slight glow in the night air.  She sees his eyes fixed on something.  She knows it is not Firki, for if it was he would have already raised the alarm.  No, it was not Firki.  She then turns her head back toward the forest and continues the lookout for Firki.

After watching the doe and her young for a while.  He looks over to where Amallia is standing.  He knows for some reason she cannot see him.  The moonlight shines on her dark red hair.  It was tied up in a bun one lock of hair had fallen out down toward her eyes.

She looked beautiful in the moonlight.  He only allows himself a few seconds to look at her.  If she did turn toward him he made sure he was looking the other way when she did.  After the four hour watch, Tynes and Amallia return to their rooms. He lies down on his little cot.  The cot was a little too short for his height.  However, that did not matter to him. He felt exhausted, but he could not sleep.  His mind was racing of images of the day he had.  His thoughts of Amallia were ever present.  His mind kept going to the image he saw of her in the moonlight.

Amallia was also lying in her bed.  Her king size bed spread out under her.  She was laying there wide awake.  The thought of her watching over Tynes as he was laid up in the Elders loft.  Her applying the cold compress on his forehead.  Remembering the sweat and muscles of his body as he pounds the raw metal into a sharp blade of beauty and art.  She sees him looking at her, but did not see her looking at him.  To her Tynes looked a lot better now that he had cleaned up.

Amallia does not know why, but she gets up from the bed and walks outside.  Her loose fitting nightgown hanging on her like a ghost flowing in the wind.  She is standing on the common balcony when she hears footsteps coming next to her and a throat clearing itself.

"Could not sleep," asked the voice.

"It seems to me you couldn't either," replied Amallia.  Her eyes still looking out into the forest.  She never turns her head toward the direction of the voice.

"No, I could not...  This may seem forward of me, but I saw you under the moonlight.  You looked lovely tonight...  Please forgive me if I had offended you in any way," said Tynes.

"Mm...  I'm not offended.  In fact, that's the reason why I can't sleep.  For some reason, I'm attracted to you.  I don't know why I am, I just am.  I was wondering when you were going to say something," she replied.

She turns to look at his face.  His long dark hair, just lying on his shoulders.  A shirt with no sleeves forming around his upper body.  She can see his beauty and his strength at the same time.

He does not say another word, he walks up to her.  He places his right hand on her cheek. He slowly brings his head closer to hers.  As he passionately kisses her, her arms wrap around his back, her arms coming up under his.  Tynes dips her down slowly.  His left-hand slips down under her legs.  He then lifts her up off the ground.  Her arms now wrapped them self's around his neck.  They have not stopped kissing while this is happening.

She finally pulls away and lays her head on his shoulder.  Her eyes closed as she thinks she was right.  She does feel safe in his arms.  He carries her to her room.  He then gently lays her down on her bed.  She does not let his neck go.  In fact, she pulls him to herself and kisses him again.  He lays on his side as he leans over her.  He passionately kisses her deeply.

Amallia pulls him over on top of herself, as they are kissing.  After a few minutes, their bodies are intertwined together.  The love that they felt for each other erupts into pure lust and ecstasy.  Neither one of them is caring of the noise nor mess they are making.  All they care about is each other.  Amallia's body wrapped around Tynes's body was all that mattered at this moment.

THE LAST EMERALD DRAGON  CHAPTER TWO  THE SEARCH, THE ARRIVAL     The room was in complete darkness, the only light that could be seen is floating on a small table, the bowl that produced that light is nothing more than candle strength. Shadows swirl around this light but never coming too close to be seen in it.  There is a low murmuring sound in the shadows of the room.  The lone figure sitting next to the table is bent over the bowl of water that is giving off the light, its hands are lying palms down on either side of the bowl. Its head is leaning over looking into the water.  The figure is concentrating on the water when it hears someone walking in its' chamber, it never looks up to see the new arrival walk up to it.     The person standing has black skin with pointed ears.  His eyes are pointed at the ends next to his temples, his pupils being a dark crimson red.  His platinum hair is long that reaches the middle of his back, it is tied up in a long tail.  H
The Last Emerald Dragon  CHAPTER ONE  THE STORM      The morning sun is cresting the great castle in the land of Kediliron. The golden rays brighten the early dew of the deep green grass of the kingdom. The only movement in the village is the guards doing their patrols. Some of the new trainees are being roused by their commanders with the sound of banging swords to shields. Commands by the officers could be heard only just outside the barracks’ walls.     Outside the town proper, there is a slight breeze flowing across the sea from the west. Small waves reflecting the blue sky and the green seaweed, crested over the shore. The mixture of salt water scent and smoke from the blacksmith shop give any seafaring veteran the smell of home.     The night before had been a little different. The seas were rough and Kediliron had received the worst island storm they have had in over a hundred years. The white sands of the beach that were formed by the death and rebirth of
